Global HIV & AIDS Statistics

HIV continues to be a major global public health issue. In 2015, an estimated 36.7 million people were living with HIV (including 1.8 million children) – with a global HIV prevalence of 0.8% among adults.1 2 The vast majority of this number live in low- and middle- income countries. In the same year, 1.1 million people died of AIDS-related illnesses.3
