I love incorperating websites into my classroom. Like YouTube is a great way to interact with my students, and they love it.

I would love to have a virtual classroom online to communicate with parents and students. My only concern would be does that fall under social networking, because most school look at that as an ethics violation. Another potential problem that could arise is missuse or abuse of the site; i.e. sharing answers and bullying.
For those of you who do use them can you share what "host" you use?

No, I do not use the internet to communicate with students and parents because most of the families in my school do not have online capabilities at home.

It would be impossible to communicate with parents in this day and age with all their responsibilities to work and children's extracurricular activities if I didn't have a webpage for them to gather information about my classes. I post assignments as well as major testing days for parents to see. Our school also keeps parents informed through e-mail newsletters about upcoming e-vents. I also allow students access to my classroom computers as needed to see assignments they may have missed while out for illness or family trips.
