I have been working part time as an ABA therapist. I met a High School teacher near my school. I am hoping to recruit a few of her students to do read-alouds to the preschoolers and kindergarten classes, this school year.

Due to surgery, I missed the last mont of school. I had an awesome class last year and do miss them so much. I hav been teaching for 35 years ad the passion still burns deep inside me. I just returned from a 'Project Citizen Summer Institute' in Newport, Rhode Island and am so psyched about working with my class, as well as the STudent Council (I am the advisor.) when school opens in September. Every year & every class is a new and rewarding experience. You see the passion of what I do with all of the students that I touch every year. Many still visit and email me. In fact, I now get the children of those I taught many years ago. Yes, very sweet memories! Life with my students, for me, is like life without chocolate!!!

I traveled to 5 national parks this summer. We were at the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches, Bryce Canyon and Zion . Each location was different and quite inspiring. What a great country we live in. The Park Service has many great reources to purchase and also free ones. Teachers recieve a discount too. I must confess my favorite location was Bryce Canyon. The Hoodoos are quite unique. I can' t wait to share my pictures with my 4th grade science students.

I work with severely disabled kids and this summer we turned my classroom into a rainforest and we did alot of sensory exploration with all parts of the rainforest and its animals. For August we do a fun day for the school and our therapists put together games with switches, arts and crafts, and a sensory exploration walk plus a whole lot mor. Our theme is I Love New York and my class is the Yankees. SO we are talking about the yankees and I always use sensory exploration and taste or smells. We are also turning our class into Yankee Stadium. Its alot of fun and the kids seem to love it.
