Do you feel that you are paid enough for the work that you do as a teacher?

SInce the state has decided to put money everywhere but into education and even our local govenrment gives nothing, I haven't had a cost of living increase in four years but oh, my share of the cost of benefits has gone up every year.

Thank you for that word Holly Woods. I was beginning to feel as if I were all alone in this struggle that we call teaching nowadays. Some serious attention needs to be brought to this situation. They say they are waiting for Superman; well I am too!

I certainly don't think teachers in my school are paid enough. We babysit, counsel, feed, dress, try to teach and get cursed out often by both parents and students with no defense from the administration. By the way, my administration doesn't have a clue how much work I do but they are quick to ding me for the most minor mistake. An additional $15K per year wouldn't even be sufficient to cover the work teachers do. I'm not being greedy. If I were, I'd ask for an additional $50,000 per year.
