Ancient Greece is a culture that was rich with art, philosophy and of course many myths and legends. A classroom unit on Ancient Greece can be a very full and extensive unit. It was a time when there was a tremendous quest for knowledge. Amongst the notable philosophers, artists, scientists, mathematicians, and great other thinkers of the time you'll find names like Plato, Socrates, Homer, Sophocles, Pythagoras, and Hippocrates.

The Greeks used mythology to help identify the origins of their world. The main Greek gods included; Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Demeter, and Hades.
