Explain the Hyperbole

Subject:

Hyperbole is a figure of speech that emphasizes ideas through exaggeration, such as “I’m starving to death.” In this worksheet, your student will analyze and explain a series of hyperboles. There’s even a passage from Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” to interpret. The worksheet is compatible for Common Core Standards for Language for middle school and high school, although other students may also use it as appropriate.
